Suzy Zucker Esstman, Parkway North graduate from Class of 1981, passed away peacefully at 11:45am on Sunday, July 8, with her Mother Joan at her
side.
Two years ago, Suzy had started an annual walk to raise money for brain tumor research. Last June, more than 1,000 people participated in the
"Walking On Sunshine" event in Faust Park.
Her family include husband Don Esstman and three children (Andrew, Joe and Laurel). They attend school in the Parkway Central school district.
Visitation will be Monday, July 9, at noon at Central Reform Congregation at 5020 Waterman Ave. in the Central West End, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. and interment following the service at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Road. Suzy fought the good fight and we are all better for having her in our lives. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.
Shiva will begin at the Esstman's home Monday at 7 p.m. (372 Littany Lane in Chesterfield). If you are interested in helping to provide food to the
family, please coordinate with Beth Shifrin at 314-628-8168.

Kaldi's Coffee House in Chesterfield has committed 50% of the entire day's sales from all customers on Sunday, August 27th
to Hadassah Hospital's Neuro-Oncology Department in honor of Suzy Esstman.

Suzy Zucker Esstman for her ideas and enthusiasm. The first ever 'alumni pep rally' was good fun and made great memories. Suzy's incredible !

Kris Kellams provided the school gym and equipment. None of the school janitors would volunteer to be there on Saturday night, so Kris changed her vacation plans to help us and attend.

Chris and Betsy Kerstin provided appetizers at Dave and Busters and also provided the grand spread of food at the Elks Club. When we offered to repay their expense, they donated it all to our class tsy.

My parents enjoyed serving Swedish meatballs taking pictures. Thanks for making them feel so welcome and appreciated....and remembering our pre-prom party and graduation party at their ole house.

Lynn Barnholtz hosted a wonderful post-party. She has a beautiful home and she's a great hostess. It was incredible !

Many classmates came from far away to join us. Their attendance made our reunion extra special (Allison, Sarah, Mike Cohen, Dave Ollanik, Chuck Angert, Karel, Linda, Dianna, etc.).

The cheerleaders and Vikettes showed that they've still got it. It was great to see their cheers and routines.

Mark Lee was a fun Viking mascot. The band alumni did a great job on their kazoos.

Mount Pleasant Winery generously poured free wine for hours and hours. We should try to find ways to support them......maybe homecoming weekend.

Glenn Conley was great as always. It would not have been the same without him. He also offered free help with our class web site improvements.

Don Hugo, Mark Williams, Rick Blaha attendance made our reunion more memorable.

Sam's Wine and Spirits in Chicago provided cases of white and red wine as prizes to the teachers.

Martha England Rahm, Linda Ruhrwein Shaw, Mike Clark and Clinton Hendricks help distribute awards and appreciation.

Guidos Restaurant on the Hill and Balduccis' Winery and Restaurant in Augusta and O'Connell's Restaurant on Kingshighway downtown all provided generous gift certificates as prizes.

St. Louis Carnival Supply provided pom poms and Viking helmets for half price.

Ted Drewes provided a generous gift certificate. Brunswick Bowling on Olive Street provided 30 free bowling game certificates.

Message Envy on Olive Street provided a 1 hour free message certificate. The St. Louis Botanical Garden provided four free entrance passes.

St. Louis artist John Pils donated a framed print of Parkway North High School to our prizes. Their prints are available for sale on their web site. Small framed Parkway North print is $55.
The list goes on and on.....everyone contributed to make our reunion fun, relaxed and memorable.
